The report stated that the startup “is being kept afloat by Gomez’s mom and Wondermind’s CEO Mandy Teefey.”According to the report, Selena told staff on Thursday that she had taken out a loan against her home to settle outstanding debts. However, an insider later told People that this claim is false. Forbes also mentioned that employees had been paid for one missed paycheck, while another remains pending.A spokesperson for Wondermind addressed the situation, stating it has been “rectified.” They told Forbes, “Like many startups, Wondermind has been working through its own set of growing pains,” adding that “in the coming days we will be transitioning into a new chapter for Wondermind, and continuing our important work in mental fitness that helps hundreds of thousands of people.”
