Dakota Johnson Had "Preconceived Notions" Before Acting With Justin Timberlake
Before she was Anastasia Steele and Madame Web, Dakota Johnson was in a little movie you may remember called The Social Network. That role had her rubbing elbows with Justin Timberlake and in a new video interview with Vanity Fair, the 50 Shades actress opened up about working with a boy band member turned leading man and how she went into the job with "preconceived notions" of sharing camera time with one of the guys behind "Bye Bye Bye."
"Are you kidding? I was just like 19 and straddling Justin Timberlake and like whipping him in the face with my hair," Johnson said when asked whether or not she had any assumptions about acting alongside the *N SYNC alum. "100% had preconceived notions, but he was lovely and kind and really welcoming for a person that was just a stranger."
In the 2010 film, Johnson played a college student who hooked up with Timberlake's character, Sean Parker. The film was a dramatic retelling of Mark Zuckerberg's founding of Facebook and Parker was the man behind Napster. He would go on to become the president of Facebook.
"I think that because this was The Social Network and David Fincher we did this so many times that I'm like, I'm in it. I know it, I know all the lines. It's still there," she added while watching a scene. "We did it so many times that I feel like I remember this and it's happening now. Maybe I was traumatized."
Back in 2022, Johnson reminisced about her time on set with Andrew Garfield, who also starred in the movie. In true self-deprecating Dakota Johnson style, she mentioned how she was in the film for just "four seconds," but still managed to soak up the vibes by hanging out with the cast after her scenes wrapped.
"You and Jesse [Eisenberg] were so busy on that movie, and I was obviously in it for four seconds, but I spent a few days on set just watching," she said. "I remember sitting down with you guys when you were having lunch one day, and you asked me loads of questions."
